Agus Suananda: Bali has a “magnet” that can attract tourists from all over the world.

Motaz Othman, Bali - Indonesia >> During my participation at Bali & Beyond Travel Fair that took place in Bali on 26th June 2018, we were invited for dinner at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali and i had the chance to meet Mr. Agus, The G.M and i asked him:

Q: It was few days for me in Bali, really I didn't have the chance to visit all its attractions, can you please let us know what types of Tourism Bali offers for its visitors and the attractions in particular nearby your Resort.

A : Bali’s been named Best Tourism destination in the world a few times running and it  tops the list as the most visited place in Indonesia. Many have said that this is because Bali has a “magnet” that can attract tourists from all over the world. Some international travel websites have even marked Bali as the world’s best destination due to the island’s large variety of attractions including nature, culture and culinary. At this stage, Bali is also offering responsible and sustainable tourism for visitors.

In term of attractions near by the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, these are : Bali Safari and Marine Park, Bali Bird Park, Bali Echo Cycling, Taman Nusa Cultural Park, Keramas Surfing Spot, Amed Diving Spot, River rafting etc. Cultural attraction a few minutes away: Kerta Gosa – Bali Heritage Royal Court, Kamasan Village, Bat Cave temple and painting museum.

Q: I recognized that people in Bali are satisfied and happy with their life, I also noticed that prices for all what I check are reasonable, can you tell us more about Bali people, the way they are living and their believes.

A : First of all, I would like to say that I am proud to be a Balinese living in Bali. As we know, a majority of the Balinese are Hindu. In Bali, the Balinese life revolves around the concept of Tri Hita Karana. The Balinese Life Concept of Tri Hita Karana is the basic fundamentals of the Hindu Religion taking three angled points on the harmony life. The concept of Tri Hita Karana is very popular and is implemented throughout the Balinese life.  Furthermore, it is also implemented by hotels, restaurants and Government offices, schools etc. Of late, other countries are also adopting the Tri Hita Karana concept as it is very important to maintain the balance of life and earth. The Balinese Traditional Architecture is not only monumentally, but also has the aspect philosophies and religious. The cosmogony is oneness of three worlds (Tri Bhuana) which is called Bhuhloka, Bhwahloka, as well as Swahloka. Each of this world (Loka) has habitats itself.

Tri Hita Karana – Concept for life

In addition of this three concepts cosmogony, it is also own contextual with Hindu Religion Concept. This Balinese Life Concept is called by Tri Hita Karana (three of the harmony or balance to create the peaceful as well as happiness). Tri Hita Karana word is come from Sanskrit Language that has meaning to keep the harmony as well as balance between human to God, human-to-human and human to environment. Furthermore, these three Balinese life concepts are most popular in Bali spread out as follows: Parhyangan, Pawongan, Palemahan.

Why people in Bali are satisfied and happy with their life? Implementation of Tri Hita Karana is one of the answer.

Q: Can you tell us what Tourism means for Bali people?

A : Almost 70% of the people in Bali make their living from the tourism sector, making the people of Bali incredibly dependant on tourism for income.
